A solo rollover crash Friday on southbound Interstate 5 at Knighton Road left one person dead and the freeway blocked nearly two hours.

The crash was reported at 3:15 p.m. CHP said one person was thrown from the car during the crash.

The crash was cleared just before 5 p.m. but by that time a long traffic backup was already in the works.
